Thank you for visiting my Writers at Home page. This week's new writing challenge is called:

DIAMONDS
If you are feeling creative, you could end up with a valuable collection of Diamonds
You see, words themselves are diamonds and you can put them together to create a beautiful poetic effect.

You start and finish with just one word - the subject of your diamond.
Here is an example:
SPRING
Warmer days
Newborn lambs leaping
Cheerful birds singing sweetly
Daffodils dancing in the breeze
Fresh green buds burst into life
Farmers sowing their fresh crops
Smiling children making noise
Blue washed skies
Sudden showers
SPRING
As you can see, the lines grow: 1 word - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5- 6 and then shrink back down again to finish with your first word so that the whole poem is in the shape of a diamond.

Caution: You may have to be inventive with word spacing to get exactly the correct diamond effect!!

Could you choose a different season and give it a try? The choice is yours, Autumn, Winter or Summer.

What other subjects would make good diamonds?
Butterfies
Holidays
Football
Flowers
Christmas
Or how about...
It is best to work on a rough copy (first draft) of your diamond to begin with. Your final copy can then be either hand-written and illustrated or computer generated. Good luck with your
Diamonds!
Once again, I would love to see your finished work. You could email it to me or send it via my Facebook page.
